Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence 2022

Take a stand against bullying on the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence

Join the nationwide movement to take a stand against bullying on the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence on Friday, 18 March 2022!
The theme this year is ‘Kindness Culture, it starts with you’. Kindness is a key element for bullying prevention and promotes inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging. It is an opportunity to teach what is kindness and demonstrate kind behaviour, both of which play important roles in bullying prevention.
This day is an opportunity to bring your community together to send a powerful message that bullying, and violence are never okay.

Together we can make a change. Everyone has a role to play for bullying prevention!

There are many ways that you can get involved and celebrate National Day of Action and Bullying and Violence. This year the event materials are designed to support virtual event delivery. The ‘Bullying. No Way!’ website provides a virtual event toolkit for download that has everything you need to plan and promote the day.

Also available is a new animation series for the 2022 NDA called Be kind online. It encourages people to block content, report it, and support each other if they see or experience cyberbullying. Given how prevalent the media and social media is these days, cyber bullying is a forefront issue that should be addressed.
Normally this day is celebrated in schools, and it is likely that if you have a child or a foster child, their school will want them heavily involved. If this is the case, then as a parent, take a stand with your child and help them celebrate this matter.

If you do not have children, it does not mean that you cannot celebrate this day. The primary aim of the school or community’s response is to restore a positive learning environment for all students. Positive responses are based on the understanding that children and young people are in the process of learning how to be a member of the school and wider community.
Join us this Friday and help create positive change for students, staff, and the community around you.
