KAA’s Commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People
Key Assets Australia stands committed to child safety and stronger protections for children and young people.
Key Assets Australia (KAA) is deeply saddened by the recent reports of child sexual assault within selective childcare settings in Victoria. Our hearts go out to the children, families, and the communities affected by these deeply disturbing incidents.
As a national organisation dedicated to supporting children, young people and families, we recognise the profound and lasting effects of such incidents. We recognise the urgent need for a unified and systemic response that priorities child safety and well-being. KAA stands in solidarity with others across the child and family services sector in calling for a robust review, clear accountability, and stronger, more effective protections for all children and young people.
KAA is a proud Child Safe Organisation, and our commitment to safeguarding is embedded across everything we do. We act decisively when concerns arise and continuously evolve our systems to ensure that the voices, rights and safety of children and young people are at the centre of our practice.
Through our national Safeguarding Framework, Key Assets Australia upholds a proactive and transparent approach to child safety. In addition to meeting government requirements, our commitment includes:
• Clear escalation and reporting procedures
• Independent oversight of serious incidents
• Engagement with children and young people to help shape safer systems and practices
• Ongoing review, training and accountability mechanisms
• Collaboration with families, communities and sector partners
We believe that safeguarding is a shared responsibility. At Key Assets Australia, we are unwavering in our commitment to ensuring that every child and young person has the fundamental right to feel and be safe.
