South Australia’s 15th Anniversary Gala Dinner
KAA South Australia’s 15th Anniversary Gala Dinner
South Australia’s 15-year anniversary gala dinner at Adelaide Oval was a night of celebration, laughter, and heartfelt recognition for the incredible journey and the people who have supported it along the way. The event brought together carers, staff, and stakeholders to reflect on the milestones and achievements of the past 15 years.
Hosted by the fabulous Jodie Oddy, Radio Host & Journalist, the evening was filled with energy, warmth, and humour, making everyone feel welcome. Guests took a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of carers who have been with KAA for 5, 10, and 15 years, as well as the ongoing dedication shown in supporting children and young people throughout South Australia over many years of care.
The Hon. Katrine Hildyard MP, Minister for Child Protection, delivered a sincere speech recognising the essential role carers play. She presented milestone certificates and highlighted the immense impact carers have on the lives of children and young people.
Felicity Graham, author and CEO of Fostering Change Australia, shared moving insights from her own experience in care, honouring the resilience of carers and the children they support. Guests also received a copy of Felicity’s book Oscar’s Layers, which has become a powerful tool for raising awareness of the care system.
CEO Dr. Dianne Jackson celebrated KAA’s growth and how carers, children, and young people help shape the future of the organisation. State Director Michael Ainsworth also reflected on the organisation’s journey, from humble beginnings on Hutt Street to its expanding reach across South Australia, thanks to the dedication of carers and staff.
The night began with a beautiful Welcome to Country, followed by a powerful cultural dance, celebrating the deep cultural connections within the community. As the evening progressed, guests enjoyed a relaxed acoustic set from Tony Minniecon, before the band took over, getting everyone on their feet to end the night on a high note.
The South Australian team is deeply grateful to everyone who helped make the night so special.
