What is EKSN?

The EKSN is a collaborative group of agencies providing support services across the East Kimberley (WA) to individuals and families. The EKSN is one of three programs managed by the Family Support and Well-being Service (FSWS) under Key Assets Australia (KAA).
We work together to ensure that people who need support can access the right services in the community. EKSN workers will work closely with families and connect them to the most appropriate services to address their specific needs.

Our mission is simple: to make it easier for community to get help by providing a single-entry point to a wide range of services. We believe that early support can make a big difference and help strengthen families and build their support network.

Who can access EKSN Services?

  • People caring for children or young people who need help accessing local services (excluding those involved with Department of Communities - Child Protection).*.
  • Young people (aged 18-25) who are seeking help in accessing support services, especially those who have experienced out-of-home care.
  • Young people (aged 16-17) living independently who need support (excluding those involved with Department of Communities - Child Protection).*

How can EKSN help you?

When connecting with us, a EKSN Coordinator will take time to understand the needs of the family or individual. Together, we will create a tailored support plan, identifying the right services. Our coordinators offer "warm referrals," meaning they’ll help book appointments and accompany if needed, ensuring support every step of the way.
We offer:

  • Tailored support plans: We'll work together to create a roadmap based on your unique situation.
  • Service connection: Whether it's family support, health services, or housing, we'll connect you with the right services.
  • Ongoing support: We don’t just send you on your way. We stick with you to ensure your plan works and adjust as necessary.

Why choose EKSN?

  • Easy Access: One point of contact to reach a wide network of support services.
  • No Repetition: We work to prevent duplication of services, saving you time and effort.
  • Collaborative Approach: We partner with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and other local agencies to provide culturally sensitive and effective support.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands and waters where we live and work. We recognise their profound spiritual connection to the land and pay heartfelt respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge the deep trauma, grief, and loss experienced by these communities, both historically and presently, and commit to walking alongside them in support and solidarity.
