Specialist Foster Carer - Rachel
Rachael understands that some children are unfortunately dealt a more difficult start to life than others.
After completing what she described to be an eye-opening training course in 2010, Rachael became a foster carer for Key Assets.
She began her fostering journey as a respite carer, providing care to children on the weekends where she could simply have fun with them and allow them to feel like kids again.
From her experience she has understood how much of a positive impact she has had on their lives. Some children message her years later, thanking her for the time she spent with them.
During her time fostering, she has always valued the Key Assets support group meetings where carers could discuss problems, offer advice and support each other through their individual journeys.
The ongoing training and Key Assets therapist contacts were also a beneficial way to arm her with the tools and knowledge she needed in order to be an unwavering source of love and stability for her foster children.
