How you can safely grow your career at Key Assets: Opportunities, stability and more

At Key Assets, we’ll provide you with the support you need to reach your career goals - whatever that looks like for you

The phrase “dream job” means something different to everyone. For some, it might mean a role that flexes around family. Perhaps it’s about the opportunity to progress through an organisation and grow a career. Or maybe it’s finding a secure and stable position so you don’t have to worry about the future.

At Key Assets, we’ll provide you with the support you need to reach your career goals - whatever that looks like for you. Despite the difficulties of COVID-19, we have continued to grow. Now, we’re planning for a brighter future, and we’d love for you to join us.

Through ups and (lock)downs, we’ve stayed strong

A career with Key Assets means stability, even through the most uncertain times. We provide essential services to children, families and communities, and have continued to operate throughout lockdowns. At times, that means we’ve had to adapt the way we connect. But our people have approached this challenge with optimism and innovation, and we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together.

Our CYPSS Workers continued to grow their relationships with children and families, finding innovative ways to connect. Face-to-face visits were temporarily replaced with video or telephone calls, facilitating activities from virtual trivia events and online cooking classes to bedtime stories. Supporting our people through the challenges of COVID-19 was a priority for us, so we were a little proud when over 90% of our people told us they were satisfied with our approach.

As many industries and organisations struggled during the pandemic, we didn’t stand still - we actively expanded our services, adding new programs and investing in new technology. In 2020, we started 10 new services and programs, from kinship care to virtual reality (VR) technology. We opened a new office in the beautiful East Kimberley, alongside aboriginal partner agencies Wunan Foundation and Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation. We also upgraded our IT systems to enable our people to work more efficiently and improve our services.

So what does this mean for you? When you join our team, we’ll truly value you - and that means we’ll invest in you to ensure we grow together. A career at Key Assets means you’ll be able to plan for the future, and be supported the whole way.

Support in different forms

At Key Assets, you’ll be busy supporting children, families and communities to achieve better outcomes. Let us take care of you, too. We know everyone has different goals, and that’s why we’ll provide you with the support you need.

You’ll find benefit from working with an Australian organisation with global reach. You’ll have access to an extensive support network, whether you’re looking for professional development or a friend to lean on. Our size means we’re able to provide career mobility if you want to jump into a new profession or relocate to a new area.

We will ensure you have the training you need to excel in your role, whether you’re starting out or searching for some serious career development. We provide training across a range of areas, from improving communication in a team setting and professional case note training, to Create Your Future Training so you can facilitate life-skills workshops with our young people.

We offer flexible working arrangements whenever we can - including the possibility of working from home if appropriate in your role. But wherever you’re based, we’ll make sure you feel connected to your team and can lean on them for support. Our people often tell us it’s one of their favourite things about working with Key Assets - we put the ‘human’ back into human services. You are never alone and there is always someone on hand to support when you need it. And we’ll extend a hand the other way too, regularly checking up to make sure you’re okay.

Opportunity to innovate

We take a lot of pride in our growth story, but we know we wouldn’t be able to achieve our goals without our incredible people. If you’re looking for a chance to contribute something different in your role, or you’re excited by the chance to learn something new, we’ll provide the opportunity to take action. Once you get started, the sky’s the limit.

We're especially proud of what our team achieved with our innovative Key to Care Practice Framework. As part of the Key Assets team, you are empowered to put this framework into practice and contribute to the further development of our services. This evidence-based framework was co-designed and developed with the Parenting Research Centre in 2018, and continues to form the foundation of our support services today.

We encourage you to bring your ideas and creativity to our organisation, and we’ll listen enthusiastically. Passion like yours helps us deliver better outcomes for the children, families and communities we serve.
