Can I foster?

Our approach

The believe that the best care happens when foster carers work together as part of a team.

Our approach: the Key Care Team

Key Assets values Foster Carers as an important part of our Key Care Team. The Key Care Team includes all the Key Assets and external staff (departmental, health etc) who are working with or on behalf of the child.

A team approach is essential to achieving the best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. At its core a Key Care Team ensures all the players work collaboratively, the pieces fitting together to form the whole picture. Working together we make the Key Care Team more than the sum of its parts.

Our relationship with you

All our Carers have their own Social Worker and together you will collaborate in working towards goals that you have identified as important for building your capacity to meet the needs of the child in your care.

The ‘key’ in our name reflects our belief that foster carers are the most important drivers for change in the lives of the children they look after. This is why it is essential all our foster families get the training and support they need to deal with the everyday ups and downs of fostering.

Key Assets respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of this land

Key Assets Australia is a non-government, not for profit, non-religious, children, family and community services agency. Our purpose is to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities.
